8 Unbelievable Uses for Aloe that Will Change Your Life

There are so many uses for this miracle plant that you’ve probably never heard of! It’s a completely natural substitute for a lot of things around your house. Aloe can do everything from moisturizing your skin to dealing with bad breath!

Shaving Cream

When you look at all the attributes of aloe, it’s unbelievable how perfect it is as a shaving cream. Because it’s antibacterial it’ll work on any nicks, it’s super slippery for a close shave, and it even moisturizes!

You can find many recipes and mixtures that to try and find the one that works best for you. One mixture you can try is ⅓ cup of aloe vera gel, ¼ cup of castile or hand soap, ¼ cup of distilled warm water, 1 Tablespoon of almond oil, 5 drops of eucalyptus oil, and 1 Teaspoon of vitamin E oil. Just shake it up and refrigerate it for up to six months.

As an exfoliator

Exfoliation is important for bringing out your fresh skin. Most people buy their skin exfoliators, but you can save money and make a homemade scrub that is just as effective. Simply take a half cup of aloe and add in a little baking soda or brown sugar to get it gritty but not painful.

Mouthwash

The Ethiopian Journal of Health Sciences published a study that found aloe vera extract is an effective replacement for mouthwashes full of chemicals. It can block plaque and relieves swollen or bleeding gums.

For bad breath

Other than just mouthwash, you can mix ¼ cup of pure aloe with ½ cup of water, or if you want more flavor use apple juice. Drinking this helps with acid indigestion which is one of the common causes of bad breath. Don’t drink too much unless you also want the laxative effects!

As a hand sanitizer

Does hand sanitizer dry out your skin, but you still want to have clean hands? Mix together ¼ cup of alcohol with ½ cup of aloe vera gel and 20 drops of an essential oil of your choice. Put it in a spritz bottle and it’ll be ready to go! The alcohol kills germs and the aloe will soothe and moisturize.

Makeup Remover

Most makeup removers are made from harsh chemicals but using a pure aloe gel is the natural alternative that is much more gentle on our skin, not drying it out as much, but it’s still effective!

Digestive Aid

Aloe is known as a natural laxative and for it’s natural anti-inflammatory properties. Because of this, aloe vera has recently been studied as a natural digestive aid. Just a little before meals can keep everything running smoothly.

Aloe vera works on the epithelial level of the skin as a powerful healer. It protects the skin from further damage and brings back the moisture that was lost. The skin will heal quicker plus the aloe has antioxidant properties.
